New Symbol for Indian Rupee

Indian Rupee is fifth currency in the world after US dollar, British pound-sterling, Euro and Japanese yen to have it's own symbol, a mix of Roman "R" and Devanagri "Ra".

The best part of all is this symbol is chosen among 3,000 designs and was designed by IIT post-graduate D Uday Kumar, approved by Union cabinet.

And sooner, this symbol can be seen on currencies and coins and wait for that.
